Parents' Club

Parents are key partners in their child’s learning. By interacting with the school and other parents, parents’ can use their skills and experience to work collaboratively with others in supporting the school and its students, and build a sense of community within the school.

"The most overwhelming key to a child's success is the positive involvement of parents."

Jane D. Hull, US Governer and educator

Who are we?

We are a group of parents who are genuinely interested in supporting our school and children through fundraising and social activities. Each year we create a calendar of fundraising activities. We meet two to three times a term to discuss and share what needs to be done to complete each of the fundraising activities. We assist with catering for special afternoon teas or meetings and provide support to the school staff. We have an Annual General Meeting to elect a new committee in March each year.

What do we do?

Parents’ Club is a delegated body of the School Council who work together to hold fundraising events within our community. Parents’ club discuss with the council an appropriate fundraising goal each year.

As well as traditional activities like the Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls, we also hold a welcome to the new school year night, Disco, Easter and Christmas Raffle and our annual Twilight Christmas Weinhachtmarkt. It is a brilliant evening of fun for the students, their families, and the broader community. It is the biggest fundraising event on our school calendar each year.

We are always on the lookout for NEW fundraising ideas. Please share your ideas here!

Parents’ Club is very welcoming; it may appear that the parents’ already involved are old friends, but in fact many did not know each other before joining Parents’ club and have made new friends. Ask another parent from your child’s class to come to Parents’ Club with you and you will make new friends together and make a positive impact on your child’s school life. Everyone is welcome!

Your child(ren) will be thrilled to know their mum or dad is involved at their school! You will meet many parents and make new friends. It is a great opportunity to also learn new skills or share your skills with others.

We welcome any parent or carer to join us for our meetings, and whether you wish to become a regular member or simply help out on an as needs basis, we would love to meet you.

Pre-school children and infants are very welcome to come along with you.

Each year a Parents’ Club member is assigned as a year level’s organising helper. Teachers are asked to request any class help through this person. Individual classes have their set tasks (such as listening to children read and entering data onto the computer for the Premier’s Reading Challenge) where help is needed.

All parents are required to have a valid Working with Children Check (WWC) which can be applied for at your local post office and is free of charge to parents wishing to volunteer in schools. More information can be found at
